What's there to eat and drink around here?

Dixon is home to a few really great wineries, all of which have tasting rooms that are open year round. There is also a brewery in Rinconada which is only a couple of miles up the road. Check 'em out.

La Chiripada

La Chiripada was started in 1977 by the Johnson brothers Pat and Mike. They boast over 20 varieties ranging from dry reds to crisp whites. They make a really nice port and on a good apple year a very surprising apple wine. The tasting room is located on Hwy 75 about a mile from central Dixon. There's also one on Bent street in Taos. Go to the website...

Vivác

Opened in 2003 by Jesse and Chris Padberg, Vivác is making a real name for itself in the wine world. While they do have a couple of white wines, these guys really focus on the reds. They also serve a few good beers on tap. The tasting room is at the corner of state highways 68 and 75.  Go to the website...

Blue Heron Brewery

Open since 2010, this locals' favorite hangout can quench your thirst no matter your preference. Delicious beers from pilsners to porters, wines made by La Chiripada (it's a family thing) and a homemade root beer that kids of any age will find irresistible. Pizza after 4 o’clock! Live music is pretty regular in the warmer months and occasional in the winter. Go to the website...

Dixon Cooperative Market/Deli

It's tiny but it's a real grocery store. Located right next to the library in the town center, the Co-Op picks up where Zellers and Lebeo's General Store left off. If you just need a few items for a picnic, or want to order a sandwich or burrito to go (or to eat on the cozy patio) they have you covered. Zuly's

A terrific gem of a restaurant open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Saturday. Open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. Beer and wine available. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Get a to-go menu here...
